Renew or not renew that is the question.
It starts the day you renew. Are you sure? I renewed one on my licenses a couple of weeks early and the new expiration date was set one year after the old one instead of one year from the date I renewed.

If your license is from Jan 1 2002 to Jan 1 2003 and you renew on July 1 2002 than your license will now expire on Jan 1 2004.

Thanks for the clarification. That's what I thought. I'm surprised, however, that such a big gap between the license expiring and the renewal is permitted. Jelsoft is certainly a lot more generous is this regard than most other software companies! :)
I'm not complaining:D
