i Bought a new external dlink dfm 562 e ++ modem (v.92 56000bps data/fax/voice) ...which show amazing speeds on du meter ...that too with big variations.. :(

it reaches up to 17 kB/sec (Transfer rate) to 0 in no time ..
i dont know if its the bsnl service problems..
i ve not faced such transfer variations on my internal modem (d link)
it used to give a maximum of 4 kB/sec
and there used to be a constant transfer rate of 2 to 3 kB/sec
