» Why are there still christians in R&S who think we don't believe in god because we don't want to follow rules.

... i saw an answer from an answerer who shall remain nameless that said basically, "atheists don't believe in god because they don't want to live by his rules." this sentence has no value in and of itself. an atheist by definition does not believe in any god's, consequently laws which were supposedly written by any of these gods would be a byproduct of the god in question, thus devoid of value. for us to not want to live by ''god's rules'' would necessarily mean we believed in god, but as it is we do not. is there anyone else who doesn't understand?Because they do not yet understand that God does not give us rules, he gives us love and freedom of choice. Do not worry about these young on...... - 2010-02-05

I just finished redesigning the photography section of my website. It was grueling. » slideshow software for website

I don't know code but I'd like to put a kick-ass slideshow on my website, something that's loaded with features. Currently, I use ms frontpage 2003 to design my website. There's a javascript slideshow option but it has no features on it except for being able to choose the transitions between slides. I would prefer a freeware version (without adware) that's user friendly for someone who is code illiterate, if that's even possible. Can someone suggest either some free or reasonably priced slideshow software? Thanks.Take look at Macromedia FlashPaper2.Thank you for your reply. Just wondering if you guys ever heard of them? Do you think of them as more of a loser school that no one has ever heard of (Minnesota) or one of the more mediocre schools? They are 9-3 and they are ranked and are in a bowl, and they are my team. Just wanted your thoughts on them and any criticism. thanksNorthwestern is known more for academics, and they are much smaller than other Big 10 schools. They're football team was very bad for a long while, but since the late 80's when then coach Gary Barnett took them to the Rose Bowl, and 2 back to back Big 10 titles they have been fairly decent. What is with the Minnesota hate? The files seem to start playing, but nothing comes out of the speakers. The decoder even changes to dolby digital automatically. I have the music player configured to use the digital output. My system can play AC3 audio but not DTS (it's an old creative inspire 5500D). I don't have any problems watching DVDs in 5.1, or avi files with ac3 multichannel audio. I dont know if thshas been posted b4, it used to be my query a day ago, now i have the answer We'll start with a single computer that already has a wired Ethernet broadband connection to the Internet. Then we'll build the ad hoc wireless network in three steps: 1. The first step will be to install an 802.11b wireless card in the main computer and configure it as a computer-to-computer (ad hoc) wireless connection. 2. The second step will be to install a wireless card in a second computer. 3. To complete the network and provide connectivity to the Internet, Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) will be enabled on the host. » Fake nails for a night out?10 POINTS?

i bite my nails, will it look stupid if i were to wear fake glue on nails? i dont have time to book an appointment for acrylics. any tips on making them look natural... thanku.....No, not at all. As long as they don't look too obvious and/or cheap. And the answer above is correct, they do tend to fall off pretty easily.Don't bite your nails! Or it won't be beautifully shaped any more ... Fake nails can look over the top, and if you haven't done it before it's best left alone. Acrylics can damage your nails because it doesn't let your nails breathe. How about trying something else? One way to make them look really beautiful naturally is to just file the bitten edges off, and get a buffing block. Find o...... - 2010-02-05

It's not widely known that Adam Smith, the author of "The Wealth of Nations" and widely regarded as the father of modern capitalism, was also an author of other (in his time) well known books. I have setup two hooks for cache_templates and parse_templates so I can more easily add custom content to one of my boards. This works in just about every place I've tried placing things, except one. In specific, the forumhom_level1_nopost template, and others like them. Is there something preventing this? Do I need to globalize something, or what? Thanks in advance for any helpful answers and not whacking me on the head for yet another question. You need to use the global scope in most of the bit templates. » Is a 2009 Honda Pilot better than a 2009 Toyota Highlander?

Yes. Both are very reliable, but Honda a bit more. Not noticeable. New Pilot has a more boxy design, which means more space inside. More trunk space, more compartments, more room to be comfortable. It also has the weaker, more fuel efficient engine so the Toyota is a little faster. Again not noticeable. Gas mileages are still similar, but Honda better.hell no toyota is alot better and as for the guy on top saying they get worst gas mileage then a gm id like to see his stats,if you drive properly with no unneeded load the gas will last forever on the toyota, there's a reason why gm is begging for help while toyota keeps going up,as for the honda, ive had Toyota's and Honda's in my life and i find honda puts too much thing...... - 2010-02-05

How can I configure sendmail so that; If an incoming email includes a FROM address in which the domain is listed in the Local Domains (Cw) list and the user does not exist (and is not an alias), sendmail should reject the email. I get a lot of spam sent to my domain(s) (and SpamAssassin catches a lot of it) but there is a considerable amount of spam in which the FROM is faked so that it appears as though a local user has sent the message. I would think that it would be trivial for Sendmail, at the SMTP level, to detect that a FROM address is listed as one of the Local Domains, and then to do a check on the user name. I've had nothing but trouble breastfeeding my son, who is now a month old, and have been supplementing with formula since the hospital days. He's now a month old, and while I'd love to be solely breastfeeding it just doesn't seem probable at this point since he is NEVER satisfied after eating at the breast, even if I try triple-feeding. Is he still benefiting from breastmilk even if it's in smaller than normal quantities? I always pump after I feed him, too, and that breastmilk gets combined into the next formula bottle. I have asthma. My husband wants to install an ultraviolet light in our home furnace to clean our air. It is my understanding that the ultraviolet light will cause damage to the DNA of the bacteria and other pathogens that pass through the furnace, and some will be killed. Since only a small percentage of home air passes through the furnace, and since the pathogens that do pass through will mostly be subject to a brief period of ultraviolet radiation, I think we will end up with mutated pathogens in our air. That seems dangerous to me. The file is around 600 megs (7 million records). Any suggestions? A good portion of the file is the "searchindex" (over 6 million records). Is that particular table necessary? Can I drop that table? Suggestions? Thanks! NeilThe only consistently reliable method of backing up and restoring a database is with shell access via telnet or ssh. This is because backing up with a PHP script like that in the Admin CP or phpMyAdmin can result in PHP timeout errors and an incomplete backup file. Please see the instructions here: Backup: http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/maintenance_ssh_backup ...... - 2010-02-05

» BSNL Names '07 Year of Broadband

harat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), in a New Year bonanza for its customers, has decided to remove the STD barring facility from all landline phones. The company said it would gradually replace old instruments with caller line identification (CLI) facility, and increase the broadband speed and the free download limit. Over the next 18 months, landline phones would be equipped with the CLI facility. And since the move involved replacing a huge number of phones, the initiative would be conducted in phases. In the mobile segment, location-based service would be launched from January next year. The broadband speed will be increased from 256 kbps (kilobits per second) to up to 2 mbps (megabits per second) at the existing tariff of Rs...... - 2010-02-05

What other goods could i get? and whilst studing in college could i get a part time job at a bank? THANKSYou better be good in math, especially algebra and statistics. Accounting is hard. Economics isn't that hard as long as you do the work and study...a lot of definitions. Math all depends on you, you'll probably take finite math if your not sure what you're going to do yet. Business classes are easy, as long as you study, even more definitions. Accounting (Bean counting) is very boring, and very very hard if ...... - 2010-02-05

» UU's...I need help in understanding this?

This was my 2nd visit to a UU service. Todays sermon was by a guest speaker. In the beginning he said he was Baptist. Later he said he was agnostic. How is this possible? He was an excellent speaker, I am just curious as how to one can be baptist and agnostic. To be agnostic is to admit you are unsure about things of a spiritual nature. To be a Baptist, Catholic, Hindu etc...) is a religious practice, or observance of a ritual, which requires no belief at all, just a will to participate in that group. Being a 'Baptist' means having faith in a certain body of understanding, including the appropriateness of baptism. Being an 'agnostic' is understanding that on some significant level, the existence (or non-existence...... - 2010-02-05

Just at quick question. The more answers the better. If someone was to go to you asking for just a dollar, would you give it to them? No.It depends on who is asking. If it is a person who is really poor and has no prospects of finding a job, then I will give that person a dollar.Depends on what they're wearing(I've had a guy in Armani ask me for a dollar), what they wanted it for, and frankly how hot they are. But more than likely I'd give it to them.Nope. I would be suspicious depending on the person.A dollar, sure. Given more than that away. Yes I would. » Getting photojournalism assignments

I like taking pictures for fun but I want to move on to something more challenging and interesting. Photojournalism is something I've wanted to do for some time now and just have never got around to it. The biggest problem I am having is how to start. I bought a copy of Writer's and Artist's Yearbook for 2006 which is some help for contacts. Should I contact magazines prior to actually doing a story and then if there is interest do the essay, or should I do the essay and then try to sell it? Any insights, comments or pointers will be greatly appreciated. The usual way is to select a type of magazine and then do an essay to suit. Send it on the rounds - post it to one. When it comes back post it to the next mag, and so on. Just keep doing ...... - 2010-02-05

» What's the best brand of wet/dry vac at the best price?

Hello everyone, I'm shopping for a wet/dry vacuum cleaner for my mother, to do some work around the house, and I'm a little confounded as to what to purchase. Could someone please advise me what's the best quality at a good pricepoint? I'm looking at shop-vac's, husky, and some other brands. But, without any guide I'm a little in the woods as far as what to buy! Thank you sooo much!!! AvI've owned a number of shop vacs over the years.... 1) Main reason I despised the first few was noise: tthey can be considerably noisier than standard vacs. So look for dB ratings or some comparable measure of sound. 2) Another handy feature is a drain at the bottom of the container--if you often use the vac t...... - 2010-02-05

» Do you think those Republicans that say they dislike Obama actually did vote for him?

No, never did drink the koolaid. So I never fell for the lies of the con-artistThere is no reason for someone who dislikes Obama to vote for him. His whole election platform was based on emotion, rather than reason. Liking or not liking someone are emotions. It is far more possible, however, for people who don't like McCain or various aspects of the Republican platform, to vote for McCain, since his platform was based on reason and common sense. It is hard to believe that the majority of the military would have voted against their own best interests, and against the sacrifices of their comrades-in-arms. It would only make sense that the majority of them would vote for a SUCCESSFUL conclusion to the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, as we...... - 2010-02-05

Would a person who is otherwise a non-tragic figure be considered tragic if s/he's destined to only fall in love with tragic figures? I'm sure I could phrase that better, but I hope you know what I'm asking. The old tell tale fact that the adage still exists that opposites draw there opposites and yet still attract, still remains. This may be very true in this individuals case but there is a glimmer of hope... that should not be ignored. With this shining ray of hope, there stands the very addict of anticipation that this is not for them, the end . That somehow life holds more than just a tragic dermis. Hi all, new to the forum! I just went through the tutorial for the fading grid effect on this site. http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx/fadegrid.htm The tutorial did not discuss and I am more familiar with animating frame by frame in flash and not using action script. I was wondering if anyone could help with trying to use this effect for multiple photographs. I guess like a slide show transition.Yes you can also do this in a frame by frame animation but it will take much more time and effort, you will have to take the dimensions of the stage or photo you want to apply this effect to and make squares one on each layer until you fill up your photo, then animate the fade out effect on each square on each layer thats the only animated solut...... - 2010-02-05

I am certainly no fan of labour or the liberals but cannot help but find Cameron Smug, opportunistic and lacking i really wish there was a viable alternative to the labour partyYou have to remember that Camerton is just a fresh face. The tories took a look at how labour got in to power and realised that Labour had to show they had broken away from the old days of union members sleeping under the car assembly lines. The database would include contact information, editors names, physical addresses, e-mails, and Web site information. Ideally, these publications would also accept press releases.NewsDirectory.com is a fairly extensive database that includes periodicals from most of the world in addition to North America. Also Gebbie Press's site (www.gebbieinc.com) is also quite large, but th...... - 2010-02-05

» What is the Best UK Photographer Magazine?

Hello In the eyes of the UK residents which of the Photographer Magazines do you feel are the best and most worth subscribing to or purchasing, weekly or monthly?I subscribe to Practical Photography, It can be an interesting read, but like a lot of magazines, they do start repeating and contradicting themselves after a while - still, it gives me something to read on the toilet. Some of the articles are pretty interesting in there, and they do some good reviews on various kit from compacts to DSLR to 35mm to MF. Best bet is to pick up a couple from the newsagents and make your own mind up. Amateur Photographer is another one of the genre, but I got the feeling that there were a lot of film 'purists' reading that - similar sort of mag t...... - 2010-02-05

» CIDRAP: Study suggests older antivirals could help fight H5N1

Study suggests older antivirals could help fight H5N1 http://www.cidrap.umn.edu/cidrap/content/influenza/avianflu/news/may1206amant.html May 12, 2006 (CIDRAP News) An analysis of more than 600 H5N1 avian influenza viruses collected from several Asian countries suggests that two older antiviral drugs could be more useful in fighting a flu pandemic triggered by H5N1 than previously believed. Most H5N1 viruses collected from humans and poultry in Vietnam and Thailand have been resistant to the two older drugs, amantadine and rimantadine (known as the adamantanes). As a result, hopes for an effective drug have focused on the newer antivirals, oseltamivir and zanamavir. Many countries have been stockpiling oseltamivir. But an inter...... - 2010-02-05

» Where do i get free samples in India ?

visit olay.co.in for free sample.Free samples in India - what I've found thus far . . . http://freeanddicountoffers.blogspot.com... To be totally honest, I just don't think India does that much in the way of give-aways and free samples. It could be a cultural thing, perhaps because Indians are much more used to haggling over the price of goods rather than, as we do here in UK, look at the price and then either buying or just walking on to the next stall/shop etc. Maybe you could persuade Indian businesses to hand out coupons on the Internet. Fare exchange - the customer [punter] fills out a modest questionaire, of no more than 15 questions and then clicks the 'go' button at the end and they receive their free ...... - 2010-02-05

» Activated matrices / resin / supports for proteinaceous ligand immobilization

Of all the activated supports I've identified for peptide/protein immobilization for affinity chromatography, Eupergit best meets my 3 selection criteria - security of supply; ease of use; batch-to-batch reproducibility. I've also considered resins from Pharmacia/Amersham(now GE health systems); Pierce; Biorad; Toso; 3M's Azlactone beads; TESSEK Separon Epoxy activated gels. Have I missed any alternatives to Eupergit? My chief hesitation about Eupergit will have to be answered empirically, and it concerns steric hindrance effects. My immobilized ligand is about 19kD and my target is about 62kD. I'm concerned that with no spacer arm on the Eupergit bead, and direct attachment of my ligand to the bead, there may be...... - 2010-02-05
